Squeak noise when moving

1987 f150 automatic tranny v8 5.0l 94,000 miles on it.

When i start to accelerate there is a rhythmatic squeaking noise that varries with speed when i get going about 40 miles an hour it is a constant squeak with no brake, and the faster i go the quieter it gets.

Also if this may be related when i punch it to pass someone there is a clunking noise and the same for when i let off of the gas and decelerate there is a clunk noise, not the typical bad Universal joints or inner joint excessive play as when it is put in drive or reverse there is no clunking noise.

thanks ahead of time.

I'd still check the u-joints if you haven't already climbed under and done that. If the u-joint already had the slop taken up when you put it in gear, it might not clunk.

Is it a one-piece driveshaft? If a two-piece, could be the center support bearing going bad.
