here is my dads 50, we restored it a few years back, it took 4 years but was worth it, won an award the day after it was finished....

as for the wheels, it would be hard to say, back then people swaped out part all the time, measure the bolt pattern (google how to do it if you dont know how) and then we can better help you

almost forgot, we do have a bolt pattern "disc" with the like 5 and 1/4 type of things as my dad used to sell trailers, but my dad swears up and down that a man at a car show told him a much newer model's rims fit, haha, but you know how that goes...

I'd seriously consider leaving those stock wheels, dog dishes, and wide whitewalls on it! That's a real candidate for a true restoration, not a mod resto.

I'm sorry, what is a mod resto? I think he kind of wants to put some krager type on, but he also kind of likes the dishes with white walls. I think it will definately be a lot of work, but sure would be pretty cool to do, even if it isn't' perfect, the engine in it runs like a champ atleast.

X2

If it were me... I'd get it in a barn quick so it doesn't rust out... then tear it down and repaint it (same color even) and put her back together. If you want to put more muscle in it, thats all good... but leave the outside (body and wheels) stock so you maintain the classic look.

I really like that truck... one of my distant goals someday is to get one like that and restore it.

Have fun

A mod resto is a restoration that uses non-stock type parts. I believe you have the original stock wheels and caps. AZ's dad's truck looks cool, but that's a mod resto. Yours looks good enough to make it worth doing a bone stock restoration, it looks like everything is there.

Which engine does it have? My '49 F-2 has the 239ci flathead V8.

Please don't say it has a GM 350 or something like that...

Also my transmission is a four speed floor shift, but it is a 3/4 ton truck.
