i have an 1955 ford f-100 with a 239 y-block and i need to know what is the normal compression in the cylinders (psi). right now they are around anywhere from 55psi to 70psi. does anybody know what it should be?
I don't know about the y-block specifically but those numbers are very, very low. Even with a late 50s low compression engine I'd expect numbers on the order of 110 PSI or more if it were in good condition.
