Clunking noise when in 4X4

Hey guys,

I need some help. I have a 96 F150, with warn manual hubs and the push button 4X4. When I use the 4X4 is have a continious clunking and thumping from some where in the front end. When I only have the hubs locked in and the transfer case set to 2wd, I only hear the noise when I go over a bump. In 2wd (hubs unlocked) there's nothing. I replaced the axel u-joints and every thing else seems tight. Any ideas???????

Hmmm, axle u-joints were my first guess. Aside from that, suggest to inspect the driveshaft u-joints and to check the diffy fluid level.
