OK, dumb question, but what is the purpose of the vacuum hose that comes from just under the brake pedal to under the hood. It connects to a box that has other vacuum lines on it, but this is where self teaching can get hard Any help appreciated.

Any idea what the vacuum line connects to inside? Only thought I'm coming up with is the vacuum supply for the climate controls.
