Question Bad Fuel Mileage

My 1997 4x4 4.6 is a guzzler , I am doing 13 MPG mixed city/hwy
I have replaced all plugs , disassembledand cleaned the intake. throttle body and cleaned it, also replaced the Idle speed valve, replaced the fuel filter , I was wondering what is the normal MPG City/Hwy mixed.
It runs fine, nice and quiet when idling.
But I wish I would get a better fuel mileage. at 167K should I replace O2? Cat?
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Well, he never said he knew how to use a computer, or vBulletin forums, or a keyboard for that matter.

LOL @ this topic....

I love the hotshot mechanic who's "been rebuilding engines for years" but can't figure out why an old truck gets ****-poor fuel mileage. One seems to pop up on these forums every couple months and asks some question the average wal-mart mechanic could even answer....No offense if anyone ever worked as a wal-mart mechanic.... then gets all pissy about it.

They're called idiot lights for a reason....perhaps you should make sure they all work.

Time for some
