my truck wont go :(

i recently bought a 1985 f150 w/ an inline 6. i got a hella deal bc it dont run but i know i can fix it easily. it wont spark. it has an electrical distributor. it has a new coil, ignition modual, rotor, cap, and cylinoid. i found part of the problem the other day... under the air cleaner i found a broken wire on a sensor. the sensor was on a vaccum hose that goes to the carborator. i couldnt find the part so i soldered it and it held. no i dont get spark when im cranking however i do get 1 spark as i let off of the ignition. if i cant find the problem im just gonna get a point-type distributor and make it run that way. any1 have any ideas? thanx in advance

those are good trucks, the 6 cyl will last longer and tow better than the 5.0 but the 5.0 sounds cooler and has a lot more of get up and go. ur gonna have to show us some burnout vids when u get this thing runnin. just change the oil a lot and that old 300 will last for ever. i had an 86 with the same setup as you a while back and i averaged 9-11 mpg. so don't enjoy it too much!!!

if that doesn't work you'll have to just wire the thing to where everything is bypassed and the engine works on it's own ****** rigged system. shouldn't be that hard to do since it's carbed that year

make sure your plugs aren't fouled. and make sure the air breather is in good condition.
