Question hidden pcv valve

hey guys, on my '93 302 the pcv valve is right under the intake manifold, with little to no room to pull it out of the valve cover. do i have to pull the intake manifold off, or is it possible to get it out without removing the manifold or breaking anything? thanks for the input.

The PCV can be a PITA to get out, but it's not as bad as it seems. Just try to avoid kinking the line real bad. It's just one of those things that trying a different angle works suddenly, no major trick or effort involved.

You need to move it. There's an updated design, requiring drilling & tapping the upper intake, and it moves the PCV valve out of the valve cover & into the hose, so it's easier to change. But the point of the modification is to spread the discharge through the upper intake better so it doesn't wash out the #8 rings.

alright, the pcv valve hose is relocated. looking at my intake manifold, i noticed that one of the ports on the vacuum tree wasn't being used, it just had a rubber cap over it. i pulled the cap off and measured the inlet, it was about 1/16" short of being 3/8" like the pcv hose. so i took the hose running from the power brake booster and plugged it into the unused port and clamped it (it was previously hooked up to the center port on the vacuum tree). in doing that, i freed up the center port on the tree, which was 3/8". so that's where the new pcv hose plugged into. so in about 5 minutes i fixed the pcv prob, and it was free because i already had some 3/8" hose laying around. thanks again steve, i would've probably still been in the dark about this issue if it wasn't for your thread. oh yeah, i simply plugged the now unused inlet on the rear of the intake with the rubber cap.
