That is very low. My 96 300 w/E4OD delivered 14 in town and 19 highway with 3.08 gears. With the 3.73s it delivers 16 everywhere.

The only non-stock items in my powertrain are the Catco 9513 high-flow converter and the 2.5" FM 70 catback. They made no appreciable difference in mileage.

There's no secret to improving mileage. Do a complete tune-up. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Have your catalytic converter checked for clogging, if you have to replace it go with a high-flow. If your front 2 HEGO sensors have over 80K miles on them, you may need to replace them. They deteriorate over time. Put synthetic lube in your diff and tranny, it can make a difference.

For highway driving, a tonneau cover raised my mileage from 16 to 18. It makes no difference around town.

Other than that it's driving habits. When on the highway, use cruise control wherever possble. If you're really concerned about mileage install a manifold vacuum gage and drive to always keep it in the green.
