Opinions

hey guys,
As you all know its close to summer and as a project for the summer and for the next year or two i was looking at rebuilding an old truck such as a 1965 f100 or something similar. my question to you guys is any preferences on what type of truck i should look at rebuilding id prefer something that is rarer and not many people see often.
Thanks for any opinions,
Mitch

I'm looking for a 55 or 56 Ford F100. I want to set it up with a 4.9 turbo with ZF five speed and a 9 inch rear

the window would be nice but I'm not going to pay a lot extra for it . down here they dont put a big premium on it so I may luck out. also the ones you stumble on here have now rust.

Near my summer house in Schroon Lake there's this little tiny, ancient garage full of crap cars that never get fixed. Like 3 years ago, a beautiful 55 Chevy pickup, totally restored(not hopped up, just restored to like-new) appeared on the lot. It hasn't moved-at all- in 3 years now. It has those bent corner windows, which I think are kinda rare also.

There's no for sale sign on it, but nobody ever uses it, or takes care. It sits outside all year long, not even a cover. Kinda makes me sad.

My neighbor rebuilt one. He converted it to a "window" model. painted it taxi-cab yellow!

There is a firm that sells conversion kits that require cutting and welding. There is also a firm in Temecula that converts them also.

Those window models sure look special.

p.s. Where in Baja are you?

I am in Mulege it is in south Baja I have been here about 20 years. we have some of the best fishing and diving in the world and Old trucks everywhere, the only time anything rusts here is if they get drunk and drive it in to the sea of Cortez.

That was one of my dad's favorite fishing spots. He was there many times. I went thru there on a geologic reconnaissance trip for a geology grad class in the mid '70s.
