I think just about every retail shop is way too proud of these kits. I say find a good filter that you like and build your own FIPK. Hell, maybe I will do it ... can't be that hard to do.

yeah I tend to agree, and actually, I would attempt it, I just cant find any good images of one installed on a 5.0 v8. I heard talk on here of people finding them for 120, and I didnt think that was toooo bad. So, either a link to a cheap one, or image of one installed, and hopefully some demensions! C'mon people.

I have a brand new unit that will fit your application. If you are interested, let me know. 96ford4x4@comcast.net, $75 plus shipping with two recharge kits...bought and decided not to use.

I have a whole pile of them that I will give to any one that will come get them and I will even through in a case of Corona and 2 days fishing for MARLIN. It seems those K&Ns get just about this far down Baja before the owners are ready to chuck them and buy Paper filters.

I spent more than a little time in Mexico with a K&N equipped truck, and never had a problem. On one trip we had so much silt it stalled one truck. When his truck stalled we were beating out the dust and silt we could from the filters on the others. I had silt I could dump out of the outer part of the air cleaner, but within was clean.

Probably not. I suspect the one listed for the 94-96 trucks is for mass air trucks. Mass air trucks have the two intake tubes from the throttle bodies merge into one before the mass air sensor and the airbox.

What engine do you have?
