'96 4.9 oil pump

I'm getting things lined up to do the oil pan gasket and have read those who say to put a new pump in while there. RockAuto lists 2 pumps for this engine:

SEALED POWER Part # 22441124 $24.89

SEALED POWER Part # 22441124V High Volume, check pan for clearance $65.79

Should I splurge on the High Volume one and does anyone know if it will fit?

Don't bother.
The stock pump is more than adequate on a 300.
The high volume pump substantially increases the load on the distributor drive gear.

If you were willing to spend $66, check the price on a stock MotorCraft oil pump.

Actually, since I'm going to all the trouble, I'm 'willing' to do the job right. The truck is in excellent condition and I hope to keep it a long time.
