Error Code ( Audible ) Very Strange
Error Code ( Audible ) Very Strange
Hey folks..haven't posted in some time. Another truck and (gasp) a new driver learning to drive takes ALOT of time.
Here is the rather strange issue the HiOSlvr has developed.
The past week or so it has started and audible beep code when you turn the ignition to the on position.
The first time it beep three times. BEEP BEEP BEEP
Then nothing for about a week.
Now everytime I turn on the ignition I get an audible beep code of 3 sets of 5 beeps AND the ABS light is now on. The truck seems to run ok otherwise. This seems to be coming from the black and blue electronic module under the dash which I think is the airbag module (?).
I have gotten a recall notice that I think was for the airbag module.
Has anyone else encountered this issue.
Thanks in advance.

Actually my '93 was beeping the other day. Not when I started it, but after like 10 minutes of driving something started to beep. I turned off the radio, it wasn't that. It would beep twice, and then beep twice a few minutes later. It kept doing this until I turned it off, and it hasn't since then. I don't know where the beep is coming from (the key-in buzzer is disconnected). None of the dash lights are on and I didn't notice any problems in performance or driving.
Scroll to the bottom of this & read the list of fault codes:

Step one is to replace the bulb in the instrument cluster. Haynes shows exactly how to get the cluster out.

Once you get the REAL code, my first guess is that you'll find yourself shopping for a clock spring (aka "Airbag Sliding Contact" even though it's NOT a sliding contact). If so, look thru these pics.
