If i need answers i know this the place to be .You guys have the knowledge. I have a 91 scab 302 auto e40d 8ft bed 3.73 gears.What is the max weight trailer i can tow?Can you flat tow in od with this trans or will i be breaking stuff.Thanks in advance for your time and info.

 

The half ton truck brakes' ability and weight is what determines my personal max limit of 10k. Now yer 302 isn't gonna win a speed record at all and you'll be in second gear if in hills, but the E4OD if cooled properly and fresh fluid can take that in any gear all day.

I pulled my 6100 lb trailer for 10 years with 302/auto 3.55 89' Bronco. It was more then it wanted to tow....99' 5.4 made the hills much easier.....
