1993 F150 issues ( coolant temp switch ) ( problems after 20min of driving )

Ok a little information , 1993 f150 for 46k ( Truck sat for years , I mean years probably about 6 in a warehouse that we purchased ) .. Actually fired it up and it ran for a bit , put new exhaust , new pump in tank 1 , tank 2 is just a varnish collector :/, new wires and spark plugs , tires after they blew out going 75 on i-95 ( that was fun ). Last few months ive ran into a major problem hence the changing of the new wires and plugs .

After driving for approx 20-25 minutes i run into a problem the truck sputters majorly and bucks , cannot get it past 15mph .. since everyone is honking ( ill let it do this for about 15 seconds hoping it will clear up yet it never does ) i pull over let it rest for a bit and im good togo for about another mile untill it totally cools off .

truck also rev's up and down at start along with the voltmeter going up and down . I purchased a o2 sensor and just had gotten done putting it on not sure if this will correct it ( hoping for more advice if this fails what it might be since i need it done by friday ).

Another issue , my coolant temp does not read right so i bought the bung for the "gauge" as so stated by people in the local Discount Chinese parts , Im pretty sure i see the coolant sensor on the housing neck but where is the one for the switch ( sensor has what looks like i would have to screw a wire to it , not plug in .. Id read the haynes manual but unfortunately there was not one in stock to look at )

Thanks guys .

let me start over, does it feel like a lack of fire or a lack of fuel?

The first thing it needs is thorough maintenance. Change all the fluids & filters, cap & rotor, and make sure you route the plug wires EXACTLY like this:

While you're doing that, clear the codes - don't worry about reading them yet. Then put ~50 miles on it before reading codes. That should give you somewhere reasonable to start diagnosing any issues. Right now, there are SO many possibilities, that it's not worth trying. You know it needs a tune-up, so start with that.

i had a truck do that kindof thing a few years ago turns out it was the high pressure fuel pump on the frame rail..but i wouldnt just throw parts at it. that gets super $$$$$ i think that pump is in the $100 range so if that was paid for and didnt fix anything,..well that would suck
