Steering column replacement

Need to replace the steering column in my 1986. My truck has cruise control. I've found a good column, but its in a truck that doesn't have cruise. My question is, are all columns wired for cruise. Can I just use my steering wheel and make this work. Thanks

The column isn't really wired at all. The wiring is part of the turn signal switch. Put in a switch that has cruise wiring, & VOILA! It's a cruise column.

Pre-'94 steering wheels aren't cruise/non, either. Only the horn pad is specific to cruise. Put a cruise horn pad on any steering wheel the same shape, and it's a cruise wheel.

You can use any pre-'92 column you want. This one doesn't have a shift indicator on it, but it does have a shifter, tilt, & cruise. Ford usually put cruise on tilt columns, but I've seen one that was cruise/non-tilt.
