Turbo F150 project.

A while back when I joined up i posted that I was starting a turbo project on my 95 f150. Well I finally finished it last night, minus tunning. here are a couple of pics.

I will try and post better ones when I get a chance.

All pipes layed out

Wrapped Up and Down pipe

intermediate work on piping.

some more in work pics

I have a bunch of pics on my MYspace page. www.myspace.com/tanterror
and a video as well of the very first start up of it.

Can't wait to start tunning it.
later,
Scott

its the 351 as well, it made some really unimpressive power when it was stock. Now I have swapped a gt-40 intake, and added a 57mm turbo. Not big, but should liven it up a little.

Sweet.
How many psi?
How are you adding fuel to the mix?

I only plan on running about 6-7 psi. Nothing major. for fuel I am running 36# injectors, 255lph pump, and tunning it with a tweecer and wideband. an intercooler is in the works as well. This is usually my daily driver so I am trying to make it fairly reliable. Will be running a conservative tune, not trying to build a drag truck

yeah the only thing not stock on the engine is the intake. One of these days I will go through the engine but that is sometime down the road. I have too many projects so this one is supposed to be simple not too involved. (Right)

Thanks! let us know how the response is! the trim i believe is the major diameter of the comp wheel divided by the minor diameter

That's freakin awesome. Watch your wrapped pipes, sometimes the wrapping collects moisture and will rust those pipes out. A few guys on FEOA.net did that with their Scorts and they say don't mess with it unless it's a strict drag car. I realize now you're from Arizona, so it probably won't happen as easily.

yeah we don't get a lot of moisture out here My big concern is not frying everything in the engine compartment. I can make a new pipe easier than some of the other crap that may turn into a pool of melted plastic. I have heard of that I know it is a concern but with a couple inches of rain a year, I will take my chances I guess. I really don't know what else to do without moveing all my harnesses and crap. As you can see I also wraped the heat barrier around everything. block 90% of head up to 2K* not bad. and it really does work too. I stuck my had under that mat after driving and it was still cool.

thought I would add a quick update. Over the weekedn I installed an Intercooler. Much better now. I also replace the waterpump with a High flow and a 180* TS. The truck was running too hot for my likeing. I think the WP was about to go out anyway, started leaking. I have about 130K on the truck. So now with the Intercooler, I went ahead and bumped the boost on up to about 8psi. Much better. Wtih 3psi I raced a mostly stock 03 lightning and lost by about 3 lengths. So now with 8psi, I think I should take him. Well see sometime this week. I still have my timing in the mud right now too. I pulled lots and lots of timing out of the tables and added a lot of fuel at the moment. So there is still lots of potential left.
thats all for now.
later,
