Door Lock problems - 91 Ford F150 4x4

I cannot lock my truck at all. The doorlock for both doors do not work from the inside or outside.
I can insert the key in the door locks but cannot get the key to turn right or left. I cannot push down the locks from the inside nor will the switch work on either door from the inside.
Any ideas?

If you have power locks, remove either front door switch panel & unplug the connector to see if the motors are stuck on. Unplugging either side alone disables both lock motors. If that works, one of the lock switches is stuck in UNLOCK. Use this diagram to test each switch for continuity.

If that doesn't work, or if you don't have power locks, click my signature link & look in the Doors album for diagrams showing the internal mechanism. Pull your door panels off & look for mechanical damage, corrosion, or ice (where are you, and what's the temperature?).

Thanks, I will look at this. I'm in Apex, NC just outside Raleigh, not too far from you. Raining today so will have to wait. I've waited 6 months now so a couple of days wont hurt.

If both doors gave trouble at the same time, it is most likely an electrical problem. If one went, and some time later, the other quit working, the solenoids are probably froze up.

Ford doesn't use solenoids for the door locks. They're motors.

I did not know that. I always heard them referred to as a solenoid, or electric lock solenoid. I see that the Haynes manual is incorrect also.

Mine is correct, for every year including yours. If you have the light blue cover, look on p.12-32 zone 16D.

I see that now. Same book,page12-20, 23D says solenoid- no mention of motor. Is this considered the same thing?, or am I missing something?

Just an error. A solenoid isn't a motor, and they're definitely motors.

BTW
My version doesn't have a 23D. It only has 23C, which is very long with "solenoid" on the last line. Then it goes back up to 24. We must have different editions.

Thank's for clearing that up for me. I was in a hurry this morning, my mistake, it's 23c.
