"Princess"
I finally got around to opening a Photobucket account and stuck some pics in of the '96 Eddie Bauer I picked up this past summer.

Pretty clean IMO, all the sheet metal is in great shape from top to bottom. Bought it from 2nd owner private party with 78K miles for $4000(!). 4.9L, 5 speed 2WD SB. I'd been looking for over a year for a basic truck. The mere fact that a truck has the 300-six seems to command premium $$ with the used car lots because of it's rep I guess.
I wanted a LB but when I saw this one I couldn't pass it up even with the SB. I couldn't stand all the frame rust so shortly after I got it I pulled the bed, did the Master Series app and replaced all the bushings. Shocks and exhaust also. I buggered the FI connectors (corroded and wouldn't separate) when taking off the gas tanks so I had to get all new lines ($). I'd like to do the same on the frame under the cab but it's real complicated under there and looks to do it right means lifting the cab completely off, not something I want to get into right now.
The downside of having something nice is now I'm leery of leaving it at remote trail heads when I go woods riding on the bike. I didn't have that concern with my previous bike hauler, a '90 Ranger beater missing most of its Ford gray and silver paint and replacing it with rust. Can't believe Ford could even call that stuff "Paint"!
Oh yeah, this truck got tagged "Princess" by my a-hole buddies because they "say" I'm always washing it and doting over it. Seldom did squat to the Ranger because it shredded sponges and mitts
. But I know that really it's just jealousy.
A riding buddy who paints did the bottom a Ford 2006 color code, don't know what it's named but more of a bronze beige color. No offense to anyone but I really don't care for that Eddie Bauer Pink Salmon Beige or whatever it's called.... JMO.
