heater problems

i have a weird problem. i recently had to replace my thermostat because my truck was over heating. well, for a while i couldn't get it to get hot. then the cooler weather came. i started using my heater and my truck gets warmer, no where near over heating. that on top of when my truck is running a little warm my heater blows out cool, not cold, air. but when the truck cools back down it gets warm. i've noticed that when i keep the blower on low or just one notch above low it tends to stay hot air. could i just need to add some antifreeze? just curious.
thanks

You have an air pocket trapped in the cooling system. Top off the coolant and let the engine run with the radiator cap off and let the system "burp" the air out. You will notice hot air coming off the radiator when the air is out. The problem is air heats up faster than water causing the gauge to read high and the heat to blow cool.

thanks a ton!

i tried what you said and so far so good! i opened my radiator cap and i didn't see anything...
not even that little stream of coolant visible at the opening. I think i know what i didn't do when i originally put my coolant in. i didn't have the heater running. i don't know anything about this stuff but that was what my first thought was, that it needed more coolant to compensate.
i topped it off and it seems fine now!
thanks again!
