For comparison i have a 1977 F-150 that when i bought it had 183,000 miles on it, less than 5000 miles on the rebuilt motor. No rust, but the bed had crappy body work done to it, all the front sheet metal was replaced with new old stock ford parts. Working 4 wheel drive. The interior was pretty much shot. I paid 500 for it and drove it home from over 200 miles away. From what i have seen the F100's are priced about the same, so depending on what shape its in, i would say it would sell for between $500 and $2000. Check out what they are going for on ebay to get an idea of its value.

For stuff like this I wouldn't go to the Blue Book or NADA guides. They're useful for newer cars, but anything more than about 20 years old you're better off "apprasing" yourself.

As-is, I'd let it go for $1000. Fix the A/C, maybe a little more. If you give it a fresh coat of paint and fix the rust, you could probably increase your profit 5-fold.

+1, when trucks are that old, you can decide in your head what you think it's worth & what you would pay for it. Being a '75 check out: http://www.autokrafters.com/fseriesb...rt=33093328496
and there are plenty of companies out there that deal with body repair panels for those years.

Don't even consider buying any old ride without putting it on a lube rack....and checking for rust and fresh undercoating.

Many crooked sellers will undercoat a vehicle...then drive it on a dusty road to "age" the undercoating.

Also check where the gas tank(s) mount.
