First engine mod

Ive got a 93 f150 with the 5.8L and I want to get more power out of the engine but Im not sure what i should put on the truck first for more power. Ive been told a computer tuner and headers but I dont know what would give me the most power for around 300 dollars. any suggestions?

An engine is an air pump, it makes power by getting air in and out efficiently. Start with some sort of a cold air intake like a K&N FIPK and a cat back exhaust, you dont need headers yet. I would do that stuff before a new computer tune. Other than that make sure the truck is in good operating condition, meaning good tune up parts and clean fluids.
