code p0401

i'm having trouble with my with my truck. i changed the egr valve and the egr sensor,i also blew the line out going to the sensor . i keep getting insufficient flow. don,t know what else to do.

you're posting this in the wrong place- go find the 1997 forum and ask up there- you will have alot more people browsing around who may be able to help than here in the site questions forum

The most common reason for insufficient EGR flow is clogged ports in the intake, remove the TB and you will see the intake ports from the EGR valve into elbow. Very common, do a quickie search and somewhere there is a post with pics and everything. If you apply vacuum from secondary source to the valve while engine is idling it should stall or nearly stall. If not then either bad valve or clogged ports. That takes the DPFE and everything out of the diagnosis.

The DPFE sensor is a pretty common cause for that code. If you have already replaced the valve and cleaned out the ports the DPFE would likely be the problem.
