Cam?

I was looking into buying a cam for my 93 f150 (351W) and I realized I have no idea what I'm looking for. There is so many different kinds and varieties I don't know what anything means(eg. lift, duration, etc). What I'm looking for Is a large performance gain in low-end torque and passing. I also want something that will work with my stock computer. Help Me?

The 351 has plenty of low end torque, increasing it won't help in passing.

Does the 93 5.8 have MAF or speed density? If it has speed density, you'll want to convert to MAF before dumping the money into a cam.

I didn't know you could convert to a MAF sensor. I've never seen a MAF conversion. Also I would think that I'd need an ECU upgrade to accomodate it.

This seems to come up alot. If you change cams you have to reprogram for longer fuel spry to get full benifit of the cam. I decided to stay stock after getting the straight dope froe my friend at lazer cam here in memphis[grinder and i went to high school togther]. My choice leave it alone or get ready to spend bucks on the upgrades and more gas use.
