what kind of mileage can i expect from an 88 f150 custom 2wd 4.9l 4 speed with 55000 on it

 

Hey 88f150custom, I was getting about 16.5 mpg coming back from a Maine road trip. I've got a 90 150 2wd 4.9 auto. Course, I'm getting excellent mileage now because my trans took a dump on me last Tuesday. Rebuild tomorrow, woo hoo! Good luck, Peace, Dave.

 

Well, if a four speed stick, you ain't gonna like the highway milage as theres no OD. Post up the axle code from the door jam sticker and we can give you a better idea.

well i dont feel like goin outside right now cuz its rainin and i just got up but i now it an 8.8

 

Yeah 8.8 for sure, but there are four ratio choices and one will give extreme grunt and the other end will give super milage with some in between.
