Coolant Issue?

Hey guys i got a question the skinny pipe cominging out of the water outlet that i believe goes to the heater core is rusted really bad and i need to replace it. it is a metal pipe that has a spot for some type of sensor on it and then connects to the rubber pipe and also the water outlet with the tstat. i was wondering where on earth i can find that skinny metal pipe with that sensor connection and also what the small sensor in that pipe is for. I have a 4.9 litre 5spd manual 94 f150. THnks again mithc

Junkyard. The sensor is the engine coolant temp sensor for the pcm.
