Got a problem , possible IAC

well i've had this problem the last few days b/c its blazing where i am, my idle was stuck at 2500rpm and wouldn't go down, i hit the gas and it finally went down it will stick at the 2 grand and up range and still does when i shift...its also lagging badly until i floor it ...i was told a while ago i needed an IAC but they are exspensive at stores around here, i had put it off b/c i got it cleaned and wasn't bad....anyone have this problem..thanks for the help pics of my truck are coming soon i promise

It sounds more like your Throttle plate shaft is sticking, put some oil on the shaft and spring area, work with it until it moves free.

This also sounds like your Throttle Position sensor could be bad. Try having autozone give it a diagnostic check, it is free.

ok first off thanks for the help and replies, well i did the IAC , helped a little but i think it was a waste of 100 bucks, it runs better, but still the idle sticks at 2000-3000 rpm, if not it hangs and drops slowly.. well where is the the throttle plate shaft? i forget where the tps is , i'll start loking for it, i'm so Pissed b/c this thing will lag poer out of nowhere till i floor it and the R's stick killing my clutch...thanks everyone for your help..peace

where did you buy the Iac at? I have them for under 70 bucks in my store. Secondly, It is your tps sensor, unplug it the symptoms shouldnt change, quick easy fix
