Lightbulb Will these mirrors fit?

Hey all,

I want to put on mirrors like this:

Onto my 1987 F150:

- Can I replace my current mirrors with them?
- How hard will it be to install them?

i have those on my 87', i pulled them in they were way to big and i don't tow any trailers often, they should fit but your gonna have to make a hole in the midsection of the door, personally i wish i had your mirrors, they're on all my other trucks

Thanks inline6dude, how were they way too big - did they extend way too far out when next to other cars and stuff? I guess I want to get them to give my truck a bigger, bolder look.

What do the rest of you think?

Really handy towing a trailer, tough to do drivethroughs (and having to stop, park, and walk in is never a good thing on a date...)

Could also go to any junkyard and get em off a F2/3/450.

Someting also just occured to me, ever think about ditchin the grandpa cap? Not my style and I think it will help.

Great idea, now I have a reason to go to the auto salvage here in town. (I went there once, OMG it was so fun! They had hundreds of vehicles, even an old Model A that had a battery holder made out of hand-carved wood!)

Anyway, yeah - I'll try the salvage yard here in town. I hope they don't charge me an arm and a leg to take 2 mirrors though.

Are you talking about the topper/canvas thing over the box? Come on - what's wrong with those? They make a truck look 100 times better!

J/k, you have no idea how much I hate that topper deal on there. I didn't buy the too long ago though, and it came with the topper. I just have to call up a few friends and have them help me get it off the truck safely (the darn thing weighs a ton.)

Any other input on the mirror idea? I really do think it will give the truck a more masculine look to it. I also like knowing who's behind me.

Anyone have a picture of what a 87-96 F150 looks like with those big stainless-steel towing mirrors?
