Spark Plug Gap

This may sound like a dumb question but I cant find my Chiltons book anywhere. I am going to replace my plugs and I have no idea what to gap them at. If anyone can help me out that would be great.

Thanks,
Matt

Edit: Sorry but i guess it would help if I told you this is for the 4.9 300

Plug gaps

I recently bought a 95 f150 and had to change mine and set them on 38 and it runs great now. I had originally guessed at what to set them on so i put it on 45 and it felt like it was about to jump off. So i took them out and reset them to 38. The originals had 147000 miles on them and when i guaged them they were well over 100, it didn't drive worth a crap. But now runs like a new one.

Unless your underhood decal says otherwise, gap them at .044"

Here is a chart.

Note that older 5.0 Fords had a different firing order.
This chart was from a 1995 manual.
