We have gone a couple of years also without a rebuild but i'm more into drag racing and the engines seem to drop a couple tenths of a second if we run them more than 1 season.

Thats a nice looking engine, i was at the local machine shop last week and they were building a dry sump sprint car engine...not cheap!

We have a dry sump pump, tank and hoses, we just haven't put it on (I'm tellin' you, we're lazy this year. lol). The "plan" is to plumb a new block this summer, and build the engine next winter, with the dry sump. Of course, I also planned to be filthy rich by this point in my life, and that hasn't happened. lol.

I used to be into 1/4 mile racing, but I got a job with a Nascar team in '98, which got me into circle track racing. I started racing sprints in 2000, and never looked back. I love sprints! You're talking about a 700hp n/a small block Chevy in a 1300 pound car, with no battery and no transmission, on a dirt oval track.

If you don't have mud in your beer, you're not really racing! lol.
