My Trucks Smoking!

Hey guys whats up! Im new to F150 world and I curently own a lightning as well as a lifted 93 flareside. My baby is my 93 and its going through some troubles. It recently spent a month at a body shop and it ran well right when I got it back but when I took it down the expressway it started to smoke pretty bad(white smoke) and it also started to overheat as well as loose its power. When I popped the hood I saw that oil was coming out from under the K&N filter and that a sparkplug wire came off a sparkplug. When I fixed the wire the truck got its power back but the smoke still comes out of the filter(not as much) and its still overheating. Also there is white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Im guessing oil somehow came through the intake and into the filter causing the leakage but why is smoke coming out of the filter? Thanks guys for any help you can provide!

Check your oil, what does it look like, is there water in it? What does your coolant look like? White smoke usually indicates a bad headgasket but you would have to do a compression test or a leakdown test to be sure.

First what engine do you have?

As a rule, white smoke from the exhaust means anti-freeze in the combustion chamber, usually from a bad head gasket. The intake smoke is from the breather, it explains the oil as well, and it means you're getting blow-by from the valves usually.

In other words you've got an old tired engine. If the head gasket leak isn't terrible, the short fix is stop leak or similar, replacing the offending gasket is best.

The good news, is I need your box, scrap the truck and I'll buy it from you cheap and give you my old one
