stock 302 engine for 1985
stock 302 engine for 1985
im looking to buy a 1985 f150 lariat 4x4 with a 302. isnt 85 the year that ford started running fuel injection and roller cams? Im not to sure, Ive asked other people and i get mixed answers i just dont know what to beleive. But this particular truck isnt FI. this truck is running true dual exhaust and a set of headers with a 750 holley. and the engine bay is clean and free of excess crap that alot of the mid 80's engine bays are known for having. Im thinking that the previous owner has put a little wrench time into this truck. i havent had a chance to drive the truck due to a blown tire suffered from taking the truck off of a car hauler. so i cant honestly say if it has power or not. I just want to know what the truck came with stock for reference sake. Because if it has the roller cam with that particular carb (correct me if im wrong) i may have a stout little machine. Thanks in advance for any info regarding this.

Six, the 300 and 302 were first EFI in 86, the 351 in 87, and the 460 in 88.

well i appreciate the answers greatly. i went to go pick up the truck today and the dealer is unable to sell me the truck due to all of the smog B.S was removed. so they have to take it back to the auction. I guess here in MO it has to have all of the stock equipment for them to be able to sell it to an actual customer. But on the bright side i did find a 4.6 v8 supercharged thunderchicken with 35,000 miles for about the same price. so i am thinking i may have me a toy after all.
