Tires and front springs

My 1996 4x4 XLT needs new front springs, the originals are sagged bad. The previous owner had the rear springs rebuilt last summer and the rear sits up quite nice. I was trying to decide on stock springs or some Skyjacker 2-2.5" longer springs. How long is a stock spring un-compressed? I was told the SJ spring was 17" un-cpmpressed. The front tires are wearing on the inside bad due to the extra (-) camber the soft springs are causing. I'll be putting a cheapo plow on this truck next winter to plow my driveway so I gotta ger her nose up a bit. :-X22 If I wanted to run 33" tires on this truck will it need any mod's besides a speedo gear? Will I have tire rubs or anything?

on a 96 there is no speedo gear. You simply have to reset the PSOM by changing the calibration constant to match yout new tires.

As for the springs, check with the plow manufacturer for a recommendation.

Good point, this is the newest truck I've ever had, it's only 10 years old...LOL....My last one was a 88 with a C6 tranny...LOL....How do you reset that, is that something I would need a dealer to do?

The instructions are somewhere in a post either on this site or over at FTE. Do a search for "PSOM" or "recalibration" and you should be avle to find it.
