81 f-150 4x4

Hello,

Im new to the forums, never had a full size pickup before always had small trucks, Rangers.
I just bought a 81 F-150 regular cab 4x4 with a 351M motor in it for 900 bucks. Everything in the truck works and the drivetrain runs strong. Only problem is the floorpan is quite a bit rusted. Its going to be used for running in the woods and I was just wondering if I should do anything to the motor to make it better for running in the woods. Also, what is the best way to get rid of all the rust on the floor? I know Im going to have to cut out the rusted sections but Im not sure what to replace it with and where to get it. I looked in this section but its sorta small in thread counts.

Thanks,
Justin

The only thing i could offer to help with the floor is to cut it out and try to match the same guage and have the patches be a little bigger to overlap and make it easier to weld back in. Hope that helps.-John

Check out LMC Truck online. Just punch it in a search engine and it will pull up the web address...they have nearly everything to restore our truck with!
