Guys i just have to ask this question..... When i got this truck from my dad a while ago one of the first things i knew i needed to fix were the oil leaks i mean it was pouring oil. Well i was just keepin it full of oil for a while till i got the chance to fix it and one day it hit me the truck had quit leaking oil.. The last time i had to put a drop in it was Christmas Eve and i've checked it several times since and it hasnt leaked a drop. This is the first time its actually got 3,000 miles on the oil lol. Has anyone else ever had this happen or knew someone who has? I mean the motor is spotless again it finally burned all the leaking oil away and there's no trace it has ever leaked????????????????

Any idea where it was leaking from? The valve covers are a common leaking point on Fords. They don't usually seal themselves. The rear main seal will sometimes if the vehicle hasn't been driven for a while the seals dry. When it is run for a while the seals recondition and sometimes will reseal. I had a bronco II with that problem and an F250. Both vehicles hadn't been driven for a month or two before I bought them. They both sealed up after driving for a week or two. Hope this helps any. Well im not sure at all as to where it was leaking but it wasnt for the valve covers i'm pretty sure in fact i believe it was a rear main however it was so messy i didnt have the time to clean it up and pinpoint it. I know he had put an oil pan gasket on it recently but that was the only gasket that was replaced. But like i said it isnt leaking and as long as it isnt im not at all worried about it just was kinda curious what would do this..... It was his daily driver and was driven every bit of 40 miles a day.
