starter problem
when i turn the key i just get a click sound doesnt turn over. so i clean the battery post and still the same thing. was running 5 mins before that know just a click sound. was would what the ploblem could be just had clutch changed in my 94 f150 4x4 inline 6. would it be the starter cylinder or the starter or bad connection any possible way to by pass the starter cylinder
your starter or soleniod has gone to crap.
thats what happened in my '90 chev. but the soleniod was on the starter and the sold it as a whole unit. Check to hear where the clicking actually is coming from the soleniod or starter..

if you bypass the solenoid that will tell you
take a jumper cable and connect it to the pos. batt. post...
then connect it to the cable that goes to the starter (rear solenoid post)
if it turns over the solenoid is shot
...zap!

After you check the starter solenoid, check the ground cable. They're known to corrode at the intremediate ground at the frame rail. Run a jumper cable from your battery negative to the engine block. if the truck starts, it's the ground cable.
tried both of these still nothing just clicking sound coming from the starter solenoid just had cluctch change and they left the starter just hanging wondering if the could be problem bad connection

The click means your relay ("solenoid") is working. The problem is downstream of that. It could be a bad cable from relay to starter, a bad connection at the starter or a bad starter. Get a volt meter and start tracing.
