Question Hard start issue

Good afternoon:

I have a 5.0L 1994 F150 w/ 200k on the odo. I am having an issue with the truck starting. I have replaced the battery, doesn't work. The truck tries to turn over, with the old and the new battery. I am unsure if this is a alternator or starter issue, however I had an acquaitenence explain to me that there is a cable that corrodes easily on F150's that leads from the starter to the battery. I am looking to get this thing running, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Dan

Do the headlights stay bright during cranking? Follow the large red cable from the battery. It goes through the starter relay on the firewall then down to the starter. If it looks questionable at all just spend the 25bucks and swap it.

Do the headlights go dim during cranking? This would indicate a bad ground. Follow the large black wire from the battery down to the block and frame. They are known to corrode badly at the first connection.
