I don't have nearly the problem when the weather outside is extreamly warm, but over several starts, short runs, shut down and restart she really gets rough.

I'll bet that's going to cost you more than a $25 compression tester.

Let us know what they find. I'm still betting on a fuel injector problem.

Just out of curiosity, are the plug wires completely separated from each other, all the way from the cap to the plugs?

I was thinking the same thing but would brand new wires would have that much of a crossfire problem?

Wires are clear the whole way. And these are brand new out of the box so I highly doubted crossfire issues anyway. But it was one of the things I checked for when I was trouble shooting right after this popped up.

What size engine is this, anyway?

Do me a favor, and look at the distributor, and find the number one plug wire, and then, going counterclockwise, write down which cylinders the rest of the wires go to, in order.

Also, you are aware that Ford V8 cylinders are numbered 1-4 on the passenger side, and 5-8 on the drivers side, right?

Its a cross fire problem, you have the wrong wires ran beside the wrong ones.
On my 302, Ford even put a sticker on it saying just that and a picture of what wires go beside what wire. I will try to come up with a diagram but basically a firing plug wire can not be beside a wire of a cylinder that is getting ready to fire.

I dunno I ran them exactly as they were before I did the job, but hey maybe I did screw up. There was no problem before hand and now after there is, I even used my phone to snap a pic before I did hte job to make sure I put them back the right way. But I've done stupider things under the hood of a car before. lol
