93 AOD Acting strange

I have a 93 f150 w/a40d transmission. It has 125000 miles on it. Shifting from first through 3 is fine, nice and smooth. Overdrive works as well but the problem lies with deceleration. The truck always seems to be slowing down when coasting as if I was driving a manual transmission and down shifted. Is this normal? I don't notice any TC lockup either, no noticeable engine rpm decrease. I don't know the history of this car as far as fluid changes are concerned. Can anyone tell me if what I'm experiencing is normal? I also have a windstar with auto trans and there is no comparison, shifts smooth and will "coast" some while decelerating. Thanks

Um, that's not a Ford trans. It's going to be an AOD, E4OD, or 4R70W.

Last time I saw an AOD in an F150 was 1992 but who knows really with Ford.

Does it have an electronic lockout on the shifter end? Which motor?

It does not have the electronic lockout. I have the 5.0l motor. Transmission code on door sticker is a T

U is for a 4R70W, and E is for the E4OD... so I'm not sure. I don't have my truck handy to see what the AOD door code is.
