'96 302 Won't Start When It's Wet/Damp Outside

My 1996 F150 will NOT start when its raining, damp, or just wet outside after sitting for a few hours. It starts every time when it dry. It acts as if it isn't getting any fuel, or no spark. If it has been running, and it starts to rain, it will start up, but not if its been sitting for a few hours or overnight. Anyone ever run into this?

A cracked distributor cap would cause this. Condensation forms on the inside of the cap and won't allow the voltage through the rotor button. Next time it happens, pop off the cap and spray some wd40 inside. This will dry out the distributor. If that doesn't work, repost with some more info.

The spark plug wires are probably dry rotted and arcing. Do a full tune up, Cap, Rotor, Plugs, and Wires and your problem will be solved.

yep tune up time, but if you want to investigate on a dry day start your truck and take a spray bottle and spray the cap and wires one by one and try to find the problem...

OK, guys...I now have a new dist cap, button, wires, and coil. Still having the same problem.
