fuel pressure

Can anyone tell me what the fuel pressure should be on a 93 f-150 with a 302? What is the proper procedure for this test? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fuel pressure is checked at the schrader valve just behind the distributor cap on the fuel rail. It may or may not have a little black cap screwed onto it. Pressure should be between 30 and 40psi at idle. If you suspect you have a bad fuel pump, temporarily crimp the fuel return line(the smaller diameter one) with some vise grips while the gauge is hooked up. If the pump is good, the gauge will immediately peg out. If the pump is faulty, the gauge will slowly rise and not peg out.
