Hiya!

Just thought I'd stop in here with my first post on F150 Online! I just purchased a 1994 F150 XLT Lariat with a Southern Comfort conversion kit. The truck has 86K on it and was driven by a little old lady, no really! The truck is in fantastic shape and has been well maintained. It's fully loaded with every option that was available at the time, even had a bed liner and a custom Leer topper. I only paid $4500 for it, did I get ripped?

I plan on using it as a daily driver just as soon as my '92 DSM dies. Even at it's worst the DSM gets better gas mileage than the truck! I also have an '03 Cobra, but that's mainly a garage queen.

Look forward to hanging out here and meeting other owners. My primary reason for registering was so I'd have access to a vast knowledge base for this vehicle in case I have any questions.

Now for my first question, what do I need to look out for as far potential failure areas? You know... is there a weak area on these trucks that needs some closer inspection? This truck is still all original and the only thing that's ever been replaced was a speed sensor on the tranny.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

U.M.

Here's some pics I just snapped.

About the only thing that pops into mind is the oil pan gasket. Ford updated the part to a real nice piece that has metal/rubber coated side rails. I have yet to see one of these leak. Also make sure the cooling system is in good shape. Seen a lot of these get bad and cause more problems.
