Power steering pump problem?

Hey guys, I've got a 92 F-150 4X4 and here lately the power steering has gotten pretty loud when ever the wheel is turned. No matter if you are moving or if your stopped. I checked the fluid and it was a little bit low. So I added some and that didn't work at all. Still the same problem, I was hoping one of you guys could give me a lil advice on the situation. Also I have the X-tool to take it off but it will not work. To big i think, I was wondering where can I get the other tool you guys use. The 5/16's tool. Thanks in advance mike

If it's making a kinda buzzing/whirring type noise it's shot. You have to pull the pulley to get it off. Not sure what you mean by X-tool. Advance (or it's equivilant, depending on where you are at) sells a set for the pump pulleys that will remove quite a few different ones, I believe I paid about $25.00 for mine. The pumps are usually between $40-50.
