I need suggestions. I want to know how to make my 88 Ford F-150 w/ a Streight 6 4.9L sound really MEAN and LOUD without making it illeagal to drive on the roads and without doing any major engine rebuild. I was going to start out with a new paint job and an interrior remodel. Interrior paint ya! My truck is an ugly brown inside and out so i was thinking more of a BLACK Exterrior and a GREAY Interrior. I want to upgrade the suspension and install big tires too! Installing a new transmission wouldent hurt sense my 4 speed is crap anyway. I can do all that but making my Streight 6 sound really mean and loud is a challenge. How do i do it? Somebody suggested its all in the emmissions system. I really think there is more to it. Let me give you a hint...my engine has never been modified...its alllll factory orriginal except the crap outside the block such as water pump, power stearing pump, ect. Please help. Suggestions..websites..anything will do.

 

It's all in the exhaust. Get a header and a cat-back exhaust system.

PSH!!! UR NEVER GOING TO GET A "BAD" SOUND FROM AN I6. DROP A 460 IN THERE. THEN U'LL HAVE A REAL TRUCK. DONT WORRY ABOUT THE INTERIOR, PEOPLE THAT SEE YOU DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WILL NEVER SEE THE INTERIOR. JUST DROP A BIG HONKIN' V-8 IN THERE.
