Cut Fuel Consumption By Half!!! Tried And True!

hey i am amazed. if you want to majorly cut fuel consumption, remove four spark plugs. (2 on each side of the engine) the front 2 and the back 2. then find bolds that will fit the threads, and install them. then remove your valve cover. remove the push rods for the intake valves of the cylinders you shut off so the engine isnt always sucking in raw fuel. then re install valve covers, and start engine. it will lack SOME power, but when you go to the gas station, you will be suprised. you could only cut off 2 cylinders if you plan on low fuel consumption towing.

NOTE: always cut off an even number of cylinders so the engine is balanced

Let me tell you why that won't work. If you kill the front two and the back two cylinders, that will be #1, 4, 5, and 8. Those 4 cylinders fire sequentially, which means that the engine will fire four times, then miss four times, then fire four times, then miss four times, etc.

Won't work, sparky. Nice try, though.

Why didn't you just buy a 4 cylinder if you are gonna plug 4 of em

I really hope you are kidding. If not, you might want to ask your Dad if your Mom is also your Aunt

Go ahead and do it if you own a Dodge. I don't care. Kill that "HEMI". I hope you like your truck sounding like pooh.

Have Fun

but when you go to the gas station, you will be suprised
Please feel free to post your results....I'd be interested in seeing them.

Currently, I'm getting 19.5 mpg in my pickup, with 31x10.50 rear tires and 3.55 gears. My driving consists of country roads, occasional highway and moderate in-town driving...and of course, the occasional rolling burnout...I've got plenty of power to smoke the tires, chirp them going into 2nd, and it's still tame enough that I can take my wife out to dinner & a movie without scaring her

So, exactly what kind of mileage are you getting?

Inquiring minds want to know....

yup, if I don't hit the gas as as hard, or if I pretend this a egg under the gas pedal I can save gas too...and when I need the extra go power, I will not have to stope and re install my spark plugs--push roads...( rods )
and if you do remove the push rods, your gonna drope the valves in that cylinder...dumb dumb dumb.....

Remember, there are valve springs that hold the valves from dropping

I'm having trouble believing this thread is still going. This is without a doubt the stupidest one I've ever seen in these forums.

Hey sparky, humor me. Which plugs have you removed, specifically?
