koeo code

92 F-150 5.8 V8

I have been having some idle and low speed missing. I reset timing, disconnected, inspected and reconnected all electrical connections. Truck is running much better, however after driving about 35 or 40 miles, I ran codes and had a 332 (insufficient EGR opening?). Can anyone offer some helpful suggestions? Thank you in advance for any help offered. This board is a great resource.

That usually means you have a crack or tear in the vacuum line going to the EGR valve. Inspect it closely. If it's good, try attaching a vacuum pump to the valve and while the engine is idling, apply vacuum to the valve. Watch the gauge on the pump after applying vacuum. It should stay where it is. If it drops, the EGR valve has a bad diaphram, and needs to be replaced.
