EGR Valve Location

I have a 1993 Ford F-150 w/ a 302 EFI. I was wondering where the EGR Valve is located and what it looks like. I have 198000 miles and it has never been checked or changed. Once I find it, how do I unhook it and check to see if it is still good. Do you know how much a new one might cost if I had to change it? Also, can you tell me anything to get some better gas mileage? I have a new cap and rotor, new plugs and wires, and a k&n air filter. I get about 13 mpg maybe. Most I can ever remember getting was 17, but that was on a 250 mile road trip on the interstate doing 80 mph most of the way. Thanks in advance for any help.

Nick

When you face the engine its high up on the left side, big ugly and usually rusy lookin. I think I paid $60 for mine from auto zone. They can be difficult to get off. PKRWUD can probably tell you how to test it.
