Oil Pan Replacement / Questions

Hi to all,

I'm new to the site, great group. Have been researching replacing my oil pan. I understand I have to raise the engine. What I need to know what else should I be doing to extend the life of my truck/engine while I'm doing the pan to save myself trouble down the road.

I have a 1994 F-150 Ext cab 4x4, 302. 160,000 miles and still running strong.

Book says to take out the rad. Is that a must. Do I replace the screen, oil pump, and ??? Should I replace the motor mounts while I'm doing this job?

Thanks to all that reply!

Also looking to purchase another 94 same truck.

I would replace the motor mount, I don't think you have to take out the radiator though. It is probably a good idea to replace the oil pump and screen. Some time back I was having trouble with my oil pressure so I rebuilt the engine as it had 240k miles on it anyway. I found my screen was almost completely clogged with gunk.
