Thinking About a Soft Bed Cover...

I am thinking about a soft bed cover (tonneau) such as an Extang. The rainy season is about a month away up here in the PNW and I will be hauling stuff that cannot get wet...
Are they worth the money?
Do they really help your MPG?
Should I just risk tossing a tarp over my stuff and save some $$$?

Gracias in advance...

Love my Extang. Snapless J-Hook design. Worth three times the price I paid ( second hand via the internet ). Currently looking at having it "modified" by a local trim shop so I can leave my tool box mounted on the truck with it.

I thought that was the only season you had out that way, I wasn't aware that it actually ended. LOL
I'm not a big fan of tonneau covers but they do seem to do the job pretty well, just try to by a pretty good one because the cheaper ones tend to fall apart faster.
