93 F-150 Radio Replacement

How difficult is it to change out the radio on a 93 f-150? A friend of mine gave me a Ford radio, identical to mine except it has a tape player. It has the 4 holes, one a each corner. Does the dash need to come out? Will the plugs match?
I just bought an 04 F-150 Extended Cab and thought I would finally get around to changing the radio on my old truck before I sold it.

It's real easy. Just insert 4 wires cut from an old coat hanger into the 4 holes firmly then push the wires out from the radio and pull slightly and the radio should begin to move. You can then just pull out the radio and undo the wires. Check the plugs on both radios to be sure they match and if they do then just plug in the new radio and push it part ways in to hold it. Turn key to acc and verify proper operation. If good then push radio in till it clicks. Job done !!

I would take it to a audio shop in your area, they will have the proper tool for removing the deck, and I can't see that they would charge you for it, it only takes 2 minutes to switch them.

Coathangers work just as well and they're free
